I was recently sent an invite to use the new Google AI
(you need to be logged into Google to use it).
This is the replacement for Google as you know it. It’s been trickled in over the last year or 2 via AI search snippets but the full takeover is now imminent.
The best part about this is if you adhered to best practices I’ve been yapping about for over 10 years you will thrive:
In addition to displaying your pertinent business information on a fast-loading, all-device-friendly website that is fully connected with Google (and Bing), create content that is useful, insightful, educational, or funny. Provide specific insights and design it for natural human search and consumption, with zero intent to spoof the algorithm through keyword stuffing, junk content, or any manipulation or circumvention tactics. That’s it.
Be authentic and real. (This is a superpower in the cheap AI digital age.)
This is conversational search with contextual answers. Sometimes and more often than not, the answer will live within the conversation. For authentic, hands-on service or product websites that have set up the proper mechanisms to “talk” to Google, this is fantastic news.
