For over a decade, WordPress has been the backbone of my web development, creating hundreds of websites, including more than 30 currently managed on WPEngine, which is hands-down the best WordPress host out there. I've been designing and developing with WordPress since its first version. The ongoing issues observed for the past six months with WordPress, WPEngine, Matt Mullenweg, and Automattic, combined with the rapid advances of AI, have propelled the need for a significant shift in our approach. With foresight into the next evolution of digital marketing technologies, it's clear a change is necessary.

Importantly, the increasing complexity of managing an open-source platform like WordPress further propels this need. As we look to the future, we are setting our sights on a new platform: Webflow. Having used the Cornerstone website builder since its inception, which offers a visual setup nearly identical to Webflow, I have made this transition smoothly. I am a recent graduate of “Webflow University”.

My focus will be on migrating websites from WordPress to Webflow over the coming months. This move can be a direct "apples to apples" transfer for some, or an opportunity for others to enhance and upgrade their online presence, particularly those with heavily customized sites or integrated ecommerce.

While WordPress will not just disappear, it has begun to fade away, and so is the enthusiasm from the global community of developers. Myself included. The good news is if you have a site in WordPress, it can be translated into Webflow verbatim and ultimately made better.

While the thought of migration might seem daunting, consider the benefits: the constant headaches of security patches, updates, plugin conflicts, and all the other complexities associated with WordPress and server management will vanish forever. Webflow’s current and future integration with AI, Figma, ecommerce, subscriptions, email lists, and forms creates a unified ecosystem that significantly streamlines operations and enhances performance. This cohesiveness is critical as it allows AI to more effectively manage web interactions in a way that WordPress, with its increasingly disjointed system of plugins, hosting companies, and developers, cannot and eventually will not achieve.

I've been part of every evolution of the Internet since the late '90s. Now, we’re moving from hand-coded HTML and Flash to early CMS and forums, to WordPress, Shopify, and now, to Webflow in 2025. Perhaps in a few years, we can just imagine what we want, prompt an AI, and have it done. But I can tell you with certainty that is not the case now. AI botches even the most basic website and it's more likely AI will still need a professional operator when introducing new architecture, design, features, edits, and integrations. Webflow is customizable and designable in any way and is the professional tool to bind all of these technologies together more seamlessly. Let’s embrace this change together and make the most of the opportunities it brings.

We will continue to support our past and present clients' WordPress sites; however, be advised that unless you have a maintenance agreement in place, we will require at least a very basic agreement. Without this, we'll be removing our admin capabilities and involvement and will not be monitoring it.

Every week going forward, I will send you updates about new Webflow sites or features that we've migrated or built from scratch. Starting with a reimagining of our own internal websites. Alongside this, you'll receive more information on AI, including tips and updates in the AI world, and a list of the problems we've solved. After all, this transition is about identifying a problem and implementing the solution and I LOVE to troubleshoot and solve digital problems. It’s one of my true passions.

I look forward to navigating this new chapter with you and ensuring a smooth transition to a more stable and efficient platform. If you'd like to discuss migration options or learn more, please reply to this email.
